Hmm, ja, der Admin des Mail-Servers in Frankreich sagt:

Following our different tests, it is clear that there is a timeout 
problem due to a loss of connection just after the EHLO command.
Our receiving server sends  usual "250-" wellcome messages, waits for 5 
minutes without answer, and then says "lost connection after CONNECT".
Your (Veka) sending server says "read timeout", because it never gets 
the "250-" messages.

Aber das kommt ja anscheinend nicht bei meinem Server an. :-(
