Das ist nicht gut.

Hast du sonst noch irgendwelche Warnungen/Fehlermeldungen im Mail.log 
oder im Syslog zum fraglichen Zeitpunkt?

Schuss ins Blaue:

Irgendwie sieht es so aus als ob er Probleme mit socket hat,
Hardware-Defekte kannst du ausschliessen?, sonst irgendwelche 
Fehlermeldungen dass etwas nicht geschrieben werden kann?
Dateisystem ist ok?
