Gegen "keine Ahnung" hilft das Debian Postfix README. Da hat der Autor des
Debian Paketes Angaben zu Debian-spezifischen "Postfix - Cyrus SASL"
Abweichungen vom Standard gemacht.

Auf die Schnelle:
    "Postfix muss in die Gruppe sasl aufgenommen werden, sonst darf es sich
    nicht mit dem saslauthd-Socket verbinden."

Und dann poste mal Deine /etc/default/saslauthd-Datei, damit wir sehen können,
wie Dein saslauthd gestartet wird.
