#ps -ax|grep imapd


Füge bitte
sasl_pwcheck_list: PLAIN
ans Ende der /etc/imapd.conf
# service cyrus-imapd restart

und füge in der /etc/sysconfig/saslauthd
"MECH=pam"
ein

Es Läuft wie folgt:
imapd --> saslauthd --> pam

OK jetzt noch die /etc/pam.d/imap überprüfen.

Was sagt 
#tail -f /var/log/messages
?
